Home Inspections

“Kevin has been a tremendous resource for us and our clients over the years. He is very personable and puts our clients at ease during what is typically an anxious part of the process. He is also very thorough and takes the time to communicate complex issues in a way everyone can understand, allowing our clients to make confident decisions during the inspection period. Kevin’s a great inspector but an even better human being, and someone I confidently rely on.

Why Discoveries?

In a State where the only requirement to be a home inspector is that you are breathing, it is essential that you do your homework to ensure you find an inspector that is truly qualified to do the job.

Customers and Real Estate agents alike have told me what they are looking for in a home inspector. They want an inspector that:

  1. won’t scare the client even when covering issues that could be considered severe

  2. is thorough but easy to understand while clearly communicating the severity of the issue

  3. makes himself available to answer questions even after the inspection and help onsite if necessary

  4. creates a report that is easy to read and navigate without a lot of unnecessary information

  5. is someone who is truly part of the team

“…Kevin is experienced, practical, and thorough at finding issues. He’s realistic about what could be a big problem, what are routine maintenance issues, and everything in between. I appreciate that he’s honest with my clients without scaring them, no bright red reports here! He’s not afraid when to suggest bringing in another professional for a second opinion on specific issues, and can also give advice to buyers concerning when they can fix something themselves… I can count on him to give us sound advice… he provides peace of mind for me and for my clients!”

I have a background in remodel contracting, home energy auditing, and home rehab loan consulting, so I know homes from the inside out.  I am happy to give advice to my clients and real estate friends with regard to issues and remedies. If you need assistance just call!

Besides possessing a deep knowledge of homes I also have a sales and marketing background, and understand the value of tailoring the conversation to the client. My reports are written with all this in mind.

I am a certified by the American Society of Home Inspectors ( ASHI) – the oldest and most respected home inspection association in the country.  I have also passed the National Home Inspector Exam, which is used by most states to certify and license home inspectors.

The Best Training

I have gone through the most rigorous classroom and field training from the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), and am connected to a network of other seasoned home inspectors who work together to help each other be the best they can be.

Reports, Software and Communication

My reports are detailed but not overwhelming. Customers and agents tell me the layout makes it easy to quickly find what they need. They are online reports with interactive links, video clips, and much more!

Here is an example of a report. Since it is online and interactive, use the table of contents menu on the left to jump around. Sample Report!

I would love the opportunity help in any way I can!
